HOME IS MY PASSION.
I have always loved creating home environments that feel like a warm blanket wrapping around you when you walk in the door after a long day. A home isn’t just a place to store material belongings, but rather a place to escape and feel safe. Safe to dream; safe to cry; safe to dance; and safe to just be yourself without any influence from the outside world. It’s where life with my girls and husband happen, the day to day moments that nurture our collective spirit. Home is where celebrations with family and friends happen, memories are made and life is lived. Home is our own little piece of the world we always come back to. I find a deep fulfillment in co-creating these spaces of joy, peace and respite with my clients.

From the time I was old enough to help paint and move furniture, I have been interested in interior design. My mom was a teacher and every summer we would “freshen” up the house either with paint, wallpaper, new furniture, or even rearranging existing pieces. From there, I would help my friends and their families tackle home projects with the same curiosity. The sense of accomplishment is very meaningful to me and continues to drive my design project adventures forward.
WHY MK INTERIORS?
Every decision we make takes our girls into consideration. They are the center of our world and inspire me to be the best version of myself, which is why abbreviating my business with their namesake seemed fitting. MK (McKenzie and Katherine) I pride myself on customer service, communication, and setting expectations. I also encourage clients to make their home their own — even if it’s not the latest trend.
